Ο Πολιτιστικός Σύλλογος Νεοχωρίου “ΜΕΛΑΝΥΔΡΟΣ” σας προσκαλεί σε Ενημερωτική παρουσίαση για την προστασία της Φορμίκουλας.
Πόσοι από εμάς είτε μόνιμοι κάτοικοι της Λευκάδας, είτε με καταγωγή από εδώ, είτε δηλώνουμε εραστές της ομορφιάς γύρω μας, γνωρίζουμε το μικρό νησάκι της Φορμίκουλας;
Φορμίκουλα ή Φορμέκουλο ή Φερμέκουλα ή απλά Φερμέκλο στα τοπικά, είναι μία μικρή ακατοίκητη νησίδα του Ιονίου Πελάγους, στο νησιωτικό σύμπλεγμα των Τηλεβοεϊδών νήσων. Βρίσκονται δυτικά του Καστού, νοτιοανατολικά του Καλάμου.
Έχει γνωρίσει μεγάλη τουριστική ανάπτυξη, όπως όλοι οι απομονωμένοι παράδεισοι τα τελευταία χρόνια καθώς είναι κατάφυτη κι έχει μιαν άγρια ομορφιά.
Το νησί εντάσσεται στο δίκτυο προστατευόμενων περιοχών Natura 2000, αποτελεί θερμό σημείο (hotspot) για τη φώκια Monachus Monachus στο Ιόνιο, επίσης παρατηρείται εκτεταμένη παρουσία λιβαδιών Ποσειδωνίας (Posidonia oceanica) και έντονη παρουσία θαλάσσιων θηλαστικών, χελωνών και θαλασσοπουλιών.
Όλα τα παραπάνω κινδυνεύουν από την ανεξέλεγκτη παρουσία τουριστών, την μη καταγεγραμμένη αλιεία και την έλλειψη προεδρικού διατάγματος που θα ρύθμιζε τα παραπάνω προτεραιοποιώντας την προστασία των ενδημικών ειδών και του φυσικού καλούς της περιοχής.
Για όλα αυτά σας προσκαλούμε να συζητήσουμε με εκπροσώπους της iSea που τρέχουν μια κοινή πρωτοβουλία μαζί με το Tethys Research Institute & το Blue Marine Foundation για την προστασία της Φορμίκουλας την Τρίτη 2 Απριλίου στο σχολείο μας στο Νιοχώρι.

Melanydros invites you to Informative presentation for the protection of Formicula.
How many of us, either permanent residents of Lefkada, or of Lefkada origin, or lovers of the beauty around us, know the small island of Formikoula?
Formikoula or Formekoulo or Fermekula is a small uninhabited islet in the Ionian Sea, in the island complex of the Telvoidean Islands. They are located west of Kastos, southeast of Kalamos.
It has experienced great tourist development, like all isolated paradises in recent years as it is overgrown and has a wild beauty.
The island is part of the Natura 2000 network of protected areas, is a hotspot of Seals Monachus Monachus in the Ionian sea, there is also an extensive presence of Posidonia oceanica meadows and a strong presence of marine mammals, turtles and seabirds.
All of the above are threatened by the uncontrolled presence of tourists, unrecorded fishing and the lack of a presidential decree regulating the above, prioritizing the protection of endemic species and the natural good of the area.
We invite you to discuss all of this with representatives of iSea that together with Tethys Research Institute & Blue Marine Foundation try to protect it on Tuesday, April 2 at our school in Neohori.

Informativen Präsentation zum Schutz der Insel Formicula.
Wie viele von uns, welche schon sehr lange auf Lefkada wohnen oder von Lefkada stammen, oder welche Liebhaber der Schönheit um uns herum, kennen die kleine Insel Formikoula?
Formikoula oder Formekoulo oder Fermekula ist ein kleines unbewohntes Eiland im Ionischen Meer, welches zum Inselkomplex der Telvoideanischen Inseln gehört. Sie befindet sich westlich von Kastos und südöstlich von Kalamos.
Wie alle isolierten Paradiese hat das touristische Interesse an ihr in den letzten Jahren stark zugenommen, da sie von grüner Natur überwuchert ist und eine wilde Schönheit aufweist.
Die Insel ist Teil des Natura 2000 – Netzes geschützter Gebiete, ist ein Hotspot der Population der Ionischen-Mönchsroche im Mittelmeer, es gibt auch ein ausgedehntes Vorkommen von Neptungras-Wiesen und eine starke Präsenz von Meeressäugern, Schildkröten und Seevögeln.
All dieses ist bedroht durch die unkontrollierte Anwesenheit von Touristen, die unregistrierte Fischerei und das Fehlen eines Präsidialdekrets, das diese Dinge regelt und dem Schutz der endemischen Arten und der Natur des Gebietes Vorrang einräumt.
Wir laden Sie herzlich ein, all dies mit Vertretern von iSea, Tethys Research Institute und der Blue Marine Foundation am Dienstag, den 2 April in unserer Schule in Neochori zu diskutieren.
